Felix Denton is a choreographer, movement director and dance artist based in the south east of England.
Felix applies her background of versatility to each brief, striving to give audiences an original experience of movement, coherent with, and unique to the project in hand. Each choreography is a celebration of the human potential to become a new character or adopt a new physicality.
Felix trained at London Studio Centre (BA HONS Theatre Dance) where she studied a broad range of dance genres and in her final year, performed with contemporary dance company, Intoto. Her varied training has given Felix a playful, encompassing and generous approach to creating dance. Felix gravitated to the elements of contemporary dance; enjoying the use of breath, extension, levels, variation in scale and employment of other dance styles, and uses this grounding when she creates in any genre.
After graduating in 2015, Felix quickly began working diversely across the industry. Performing, choreographing, modelling and teaching dance, Felix attributes her understanding of directing movement from behind the camera, to her time spent on shoots in front of the camera. Teaching dance gave Felix a means to explore her movement ideas with a range of people and movement abilities and to continue discovering her choreographic identity.
Felix has worked with contemporary dance companies and choreographers, multi disciplinary creators, on film, music videos, advertising campaigns and in education. Her credits include Moxie Brawl, DeafNoise, British Antarctic Survey, The Smile, Kid Kapichi, Cosima, Cambridge Audio, LEVI, Pepsi co, Warner Bros, Sony, Samsung, the BBC, Channel 4, We Will Rock You (schools edition) and Cascade Dance.
